For me it just came down to shopping for the groceries the cook wants. Woods wants a DB heavy D. So I went with a DB heavy draft.

TH reason I took so many DB’s is the cupboard is kind of bare back there and Woods wants to run a DB based Nickel/Dime scheme most of the time. SO there could be 10-12 DB’s on the roster. IMO there are maybe 6 guys that are keepers at DB: JJ3, Delpit, Harrisson, Ward, Williams and Hill. After that it’s JAG’s/scrubs IMO.

Clowney is an average pass rusher, however he is an ELITE run defender. Which makes him a very good option at LDE. Of all the edge defenders in this years FA class Clowney had the best run defense grade from PFF. when you combine Elite vs the run and average vs thr pass you still get a very good player IMO. Just not an elite one.

Say the Browns sign the last 2 guys they have had in for visits, Clowney and Conley. It would mean they would have addressed EVERY level of the defense and truely allow BPA across the board including offense. Not that am beating the drum to draft an offensive player.
