Well all I can say is I stopped paying the host and they gave me a cutoff date of early Nov.
November 1, 2022 at 11:44 am #21796IceKeymasterAgree.
Cooper is actually a pretty good WR. Who woulda known?October 28, 2022 at 9:06 am #21787IceKeymasterI will miss all you guys. We had a lot of laughs. From the Enviable Cockpit, to “Girls in the stands next to me asked me why I’m not playing”, to BOWWWLDEOGSSSISCOMINGGGGGGGG.
This place deserves a better sendoff than I’ve given it.
October 27, 2022 at 11:10 am #21784IceKeymasterI’ve given a lot of thought to this decision, I didn’t make it on a whim. I will miss you guys a lot, but in truth most of the discussion on this forum had already withered away. I’m not sure what caused us all to lose our excitement. For me trading all those picks for a guy with really bad morals was just the straw that broke the camels back. I was already becoming disenfranchised with the NFL a couple seasons ago when they decided to become political. Of course I have my political leanings, but I want to watch sports to get away from that garbage. Now political messages are on each player’s helmet and every endzone. To see the NFL completely infuse itself with politics (and to pick a side) takes away my reason for watching. If football is no longer an escape then why would I bother?
What I’m giving up is a chance to come together with you guys every Sunday and complain about a loss, or enjoy a rare victory, and to always disagree with Soup. But those days are gone. I don’t live chat or even post messages much after games. Shutting down the site is just unplugging the respirator on a patient who has been in a coma for years. I think it’s time. If you guys find another forum to post on, let me know and I’ll join and post once or twice a month. That’s about all the effort I’m willing to devote to the NFL these days.
September 20, 2022 at 8:48 am #21744IceKeymasterYeah apparently I have a different definition of ‘goat’ than Soup. For me it means someone who contributed to a loss. For Soup it means this person should be kicked off the team, kicked out of the country, and possibly just shot into space without a space suit.
September 19, 2022 at 11:33 am #21742IceKeymasterAs much as it causes me to vomit I have to agree with Soup regarding York. His job is to make extra points 100% of the time. They should be automatic, he didn’t do his job this week. I wouldn’t be complaining if he missed a 72 yard game winner or even a 55 yard game winner. But you miss an extra point then you deserve a goat. It doesn’t mean we’re giving up on the kid forever.
It also doesn’t take away from the other goats on Sunday. I don’t hold York solely responsible for the loss, that was a team loss as much as I’ve ever seen one. Once the clock hit 2 minutes left every part of the team failed in almost every way imaginable. It took multiple miracles for them to come back, and we provided those miracles for them. So many goats for this game.
September 13, 2022 at 9:02 am #21730IceKeymasterHoly early mock batman!
September 12, 2022 at 9:22 am #21722IceKeymasterI think we should give a game ball to Brissett. He sucks so bad that Stefanski was forced to run the ball.
Goat to Cade York’s mustache. That mustache belongs on a guy trying to lure kids into his van with candy.
May 3, 2022 at 2:26 pm #21679IceKeymasterThe title of the article is brilliant.
March 30, 2022 at 9:38 am #21635IceKeymasterLol taking the wait and see method.
You mean instead of just deciding his guilt/innocence based on my gut feeling? Yup. Let’s see what all the investigations and civil suits find. All I’ll say for now is that as a fan this really stinks and our team better win the huge bet they made on the character of Watson.
March 29, 2022 at 12:22 pm #21633IceKeymasterLike Witch Hunts and Linchings never happen?
I don’t understand the connection
March 27, 2022 at 2:09 pm #21630IceKeymasterThis whole thing sits very poorly with me. I’m a Baker believer, and that makes it worse. It’s obvious that they were planning on replacing him when they didn’t extend him before last season. They could have handled this so much better. Now he’s probably gonna be released and he’ll be excited to sign with a team in our division.
This admin seems to think they have some ‘moral capital’ banked up. Perhaps from being woke and having female coaches and minority leadership. They spent more moral capital by signing Watson then they had in the bank for sure.
March 25, 2022 at 10:18 am #21625IceKeymasterHooray. Our new franchise QB is not a felon. Time to celebrate.
March 22, 2022 at 8:35 pm #21617IceKeymasterI don’t care what he posts somewhere else, this is my stupid little sandbox and anything that happens outside of it is someone else’s problem. No one on this site is ‘vetted’ or ‘verified’. My recommendation is that everyone make up your own mind.
No such thing as news any more these days. It’s all propaganda.
March 22, 2022 at 9:39 am #21615IceKeymasterWatson’s contract for 2022 is basically $1m salary $45m bonus. That $45m all hits our cap this year essentially making us very cash-poor. We can’t resign Baker to lessen the cap hit for another team. Whatever team he goes to will have to figure it out.
March 20, 2022 at 10:04 am #21611IceKeymasterFingers crossed.
March 20, 2022 at 10:02 am #21610IceKeymasterLandry is a beast. He’s a good influence (if he’s not getting unsportsmanlike penalties for taking it too far).
March 20, 2022 at 10:01 am #21609IceKeymasterJust a case of making sure our backup has the same skillset as our starter.
March 19, 2022 at 3:26 pm #21593IceKeymasterI’ve seen some people talk about the morality of it all and we each have to make our own decision about how this effects our fandom. I am not going to knock anyone for the decision they make.
That’s well said.
MDP, I skimmed that article. I’ll have to sit down and read it all some other time.
Basically the allegations are that he sexually assaulted 2 women, exposed himself to 21 of them, and inflicted emotional distress on all 22 by propositioning them.
Him propositioning LMT’s: It’s a very ugly part of the profession and I imagine any female LMT might have to deal with it at some point. Same with models and Hooters waitresses. I’m not excusing it, it’s vile. But that doesn’t mean he should go to jail. Same with exposing himself. It makes him a creep. Every single one of those women should have immediately walked out of the room and insisted the massage was over and never contacted him again, then reached out to their LMT community and warned them. But some of them wanted to use his status as an NFL player to try to get more clients and decided to put up with the harassment. Those don’t get to go back and claim emotional distress IMO.
The sexual assaults really concern me. 2 women claim he forced them into giving oral sex. That’s RAPE.
March 19, 2022 at 10:24 am #21584IceKeymasterGlad someone has been following this. I nominate DS as new general counsel of BFT, reporting on all lawsuits. Please keep us informed.
March 19, 2022 at 10:21 am #21583IceKeymasterLB is a position of future need for us. We traded one and resigned a starter to a 1 year contract. Need to groom someone.
March 19, 2022 at 10:20 am #21582IceKeymasterNot crazy about drafting a center before the late rounds.
It’s not a DS draft without an OSU prospect!
March 18, 2022 at 5:53 pm #21568IceKeymasterRumor is that he’s demanding to be traded to Indy. Lol no you don’t get to choose.
I say we send him to @Shooter and the Panthers. Get him out of the AFC.
March 18, 2022 at 5:40 pm #21567IceKeymaster$230m ALL GUARANTEED over 5, and we give them three 1st rounders, a third, and maybe a 5th.
The good news is that maybe Baker will get us that 3rd or 5th back.
Edit: NFLN reporting that they are sending us a 2023 4th, we’re sending them our next three 1sts, our 2023 3rd and 2024 4th.
March 18, 2022 at 5:37 pm #21566IceKeymasterwell I guess I’m legally and morally obligated to hate him now.
March 18, 2022 at 5:23 pm #21561IceKeymasterMy jaw. On the floor.
Guess I get to spend an afternoon reading the allegations against Watson.
March 17, 2022 at 3:34 pm #21552IceKeymasterI guess Dan Labbe is no fan of Baker’s. Saying that Winston, Mariotta, or even Garoppolo are upgrades to Mayfield is frankly stunning. Are my orange and brown glasses truly THAT thick?!? Is there anyone in the league who would choose Mariotta over Mayfield???
March 17, 2022 at 12:48 pm #21548IceKeymasterHopefully the front office likes Kirk Cousins as a starter.
Not exactly artfully done, was it.
March 17, 2022 at 12:00 pm #21546IceKeymasterLooks like we’re out of the Watson sweepstakes according to PFT.
Fine by me.
March 17, 2022 at 9:39 am #21544IceKeymasterAgree with both Dude and MDP. My biggest fear is that he goes somewhere else and becomes Drew Brees 2.0. His arm and his confidence in his arm were decimated by injuries this year. That dude took us deep into the playoffs. I have some loyalty for that.
March 17, 2022 at 9:37 am #21543IceKeymasterI don’t know enough about Watson’s problems to know whether I hate him or not. I guess if we sign him then I’m gonna have to read the allegations, which doesn’t sound like a fun way to spend an afternoon.
March 17, 2022 at 9:33 am #21542IceKeymasterYou sonofabich. Reported.
March 16, 2022 at 3:20 pm #21532IceKeymasterI’m less optimistic about his trade value. I think it’s likely between a 3rd and a 5th.
March 16, 2022 at 3:15 pm #21531IceKeymasterI think we need to stop thinking of Cooper as a replacement for Landry, he’s a replacement for OBJ. We haven’t replaced Landry yet.
March 16, 2022 at 9:46 am #21523IceKeymasterTretter was really good, but Harris played really well last year in his place. The savings is significant. We’re gonna need all that money if we’re going QB shopping. (sigh)
March 16, 2022 at 9:44 am #21522IceKeymasterAll I can do is keep telling myself to judge by what’s on the field come September, not the moves they’re making now.
Landry was a f-ing warrior for us. I think without him our run game will really suffer. You read that right, our RUN game. I can’t tell you how many 3 yard runs turned into 20 yard runs because Landry blew up a safety. Plus his short-mid passing routes kept the LB’s honest and off the line.
Tretter I actually understand. He’s great, but he’s getting old and we didn’t draft Harris for nothing. Harris filled in well IIRC when Tretter was injured; well enough that I didn’t really notice a difference. It’s a HUGE salary difference.
January 19, 2022 at 11:44 am #21490IceKeymasterWhy us? Dude lost his fucking mind. That’s a big hit to our defensive line and since it looks like we’re retaining our DC it’s a huge hit to our defense since we rarely rush more than 4.
January 6, 2022 at 3:49 pm #21483IceKeymaster“Clickbait. You and many other Cleveland local media continue to be drama stirring reporters with no sources or facts. Don’t put words in my mouth so you can put food on your table. I’m not your puppet.” – Baker Mayfield
“Same stuff different year.” – Brandon Weeden
“All aboard the BRADY TRAIN” – Ice
“BOWL DEOGGSS IS COMINGGGGGGGGG” – rusrious
“Enviable Cockpit” – Tree
January 6, 2022 at 1:42 pm #21481IceKeymasterAnyone NOT furious about the offense this year please raise your hand.
None? Ok then.
January 6, 2022 at 1:36 pm #21479IceKeymasterIt takes a very small-minded person to sabotage their own operation just to get rid of someone. KS doesn’t have to lose to get rid of Baker. In fact the best thing he could do is win; bench Baker and win the game with Keenum. Losing a game certainly would not help Stefanski if there ends up being a power struggle between him and Baker.
January 5, 2022 at 9:35 am #21468IceKeymasterSounds like I’m in an extreme minority here; I believe playcalling has been awful lately and also believe it can be fixed.
Stefanski has the work ethic and intellect to pore over every decision he’s made this offseason. I think he’ll have obscene amounts of statistics that will show that his brand of playcalling was fantastic when it was new but had diminishing returns as the league got more experienced with it.
He has to learn to trust his players. When the defense is in a heavy front to stop the run, Stef ‘outsmarts’ them by going to a pass play. THATS EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT US TO DO. We need to run into that heavy front, because they can’t stop us. I don’t care if they have 10 guys on the line. Run the ball into it. THEY CAN’T STOP US. We have the best interior O-line in football and the best running backs. I don’t care if they put 11 d-linemen on the field, run the ball. THEY CAN’T STOP US.
THAT is what Stefanski is missing.
January 5, 2022 at 9:26 am #21467IceKeymasterNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I forbid this.
January 4, 2022 at 7:02 pm #21459IceKeymasterJanuary 4, 2022 at 11:47 am #21455IceKeymasterStefanski purposely put that game plan out there to willfully destroy Mayfield. Aaron Rodgers literally said “it looks like he’s trying to put him in a bad spot.”
I don’t believe that. If he truly HATES Baker he can use any of a thousand excuses to let him go. He doesn’t have to willfully lose games and put his players in bad positions. I think this is more of a guy who had his ego stroked too much and tries to think himself out of situations instead of letting his players do what they do best.
January 4, 2022 at 11:44 am #21453IceKeymasterIt reeks of ego to me. Gets named coach of the year last year (and deservedly so) and this year thinks he can outsmart guys that have been doing this for decades. He might be smarter but there’s still a learning curve. Intelligence and experience are two very different things and one cannot replace the other.
January 4, 2022 at 10:18 am #21451IceKeymasterWhat the fuck is a “Zrunbgane”?
I started off watching the Manning cast, expecting to learn a lot. I switched back to the broadcast halfway through the 2nd quarter because I couldn’t stand it anymore. Very little football discussion. Real missed opportunity for the Mannings. They should dump guests entirely or maybe just 1 guest per game for 1 quarter.
Playcalling was BAD. I understand what he was *trying to do. He runs the same play 3 times and then the 4th time everything looks like he’s about to run that exact play but instead it’s something completely different. He’s spending way too much time trying to outsmart the defense instead of outplaying them. We need to get back and simplify and focus on execution. Up until the last 5 minutes of the game we were within one score… run the fucking ball.
January 3, 2022 at 12:02 pm #21445IceKeymasterLike it or not, this franchise has a huge decision to make regarding Baker and the sooner we make it the better it is for us. IMO worst case scenario is that we let him go and he turns into a HOFer like Drew Brees. 2nd worst case scenario is we waste money signing him long term and he turns into hot garbage.
January 2, 2022 at 11:02 pm #21443IceKeymasterIMO this is pure player evaluation time. Teams have to use this time to start making decisions for next season, and players have to use this time to convince the NFL they deserve a spot. Play anyone who is able to play especially Baker.
December 27, 2021 at 9:45 am #21437IceKeymasterIt sure hasn’t been good lately. I understand why you’re ready to move on, especially with guys like Burrow lighting it up for 525 yards. I’m not ready to move on yet, and I think the reason is what we suffered with the last 20 years. There were so many days where we’d get 175 yards passing and consider that a really good outing. I’m sick of averaging 130 yards per game in the air, we lived with that far too long. Baker is a higher level than what we’ve dealt with. I feel like it’s there, it’s just not clicking for some reason.
I dunno, maybe it’s that thing where you are dating a girl and she’s ok but you don’t want to break up because you’re not sure you can do better.
December 17, 2021 at 10:08 am #21431IceKeymasterWas Seneca Wallace unavailable? Ken Dorsey?
I feel like this could be Tree’s heroic moment; we’re down so many players and he’s in the stands and all these hot women say “you should be down there with them. You look like an amazing football player!” And a coach overhears the hot women, takes one look at Tree, and has security escort him to the sideline. They ask him what position he plays, he replies “all of them, where do you need me”. He starts at center and pancakes 2 defenders at the same time. Then coach notices how great his shotgun snap was and they try him at QB. Browns win the game 89-0. Every pass by Tree is a touchdown. He also plays defense and has 21 sacks.
December 15, 2021 at 12:43 pm #21427IceKeymasterThe league just said definitively they won’t postpone the game.
“because fuck the Browns” they said under their breath.
December 15, 2021 at 9:57 am #21423IceKeymasterThis is ridiculous.
December 15, 2021 at 7:45 am #21418IceKeymasterI recall being required to sit for 10 days after a positive test. Is that a thing? Maybe that was just in my fantasy football league.
December 13, 2021 at 5:44 pm #21413IceKeymasterI see.
Up by 3 scores at the start of the 2nd half; I’d want the offense to play ‘more conservatively’. Ball control. Clock control. More running plays, and short ‘safe’ passing plays. It should still generate points even if they’re FG’s, and we need to find out why they didn’t.
December 13, 2021 at 11:27 am #21411IceKeymasterThe routes appeared to all be really short conservative routes. I think that’s his issue.
I totally disagree with that! He had quite a few deep throws, including two that got PI penalties IIRC.
December 13, 2021 at 8:46 am #21409IceKeymasterJust from the eyeball test it APPEARED to me that we blitzed more often yesterday than in the first game, especially after Lamar exited the game. Maybe someone can check the stats on that.
Soup I’m surprised you’re taking Baker’s side on this. When he complains about conservative playcalling in the 2nd half he’s complaining that we ran the ball too much. Running the ball too much gives you a woody.
December 2, 2021 at 2:47 pm #21387IceKeymasterGreat analysis. OBJ watched that and said “I bet you miss me now, Cleveland.”
No we don’t OBJ.
That was DPJ’s worst game for us. Before this game he was absolutely money every time the ball went in his direction. Also worth noting that Hollywood Higgins has fallen lower in the depth chart.
November 30, 2021 at 4:58 pm #21377IceKeymasterMDP you read my mind about Brees. In fact I’d say Mayfield’s play style is almost a carbon copy of Brees.
He is beat the fuck up. You don’t let go of a guy just because he is beat the fuck up unless he doesn’t have toughness.
November 30, 2021 at 2:51 pm #21372IceKeymasterContract year for Mayfield.
November 30, 2021 at 11:23 am #21365IceKeymasterSoup I don’t disagree with a lot of the stuff you just said. We all watched the game. We all agree we looked like shit on offense and special teams.
What I’m specifically asking you to source is your statement that they ignore drops, penalties, and kicking accuracy in practice. What if they actually have been focusing MORE on those things in practice and the players are still fucking up? Seeing more drops during the game is not proof that they are not working on it in practice.
FYI there’s a still of the 3rd and 7 with 1:10 left in the half. 5 WR route. 0 past the sticks. Yep. 2 guys on the left 3 yards way and 2 guys on the right 3 yards away (all bunched of course bc that’s what Captain Harvard does) and 1 guy in the middle 1/2 yard from the line.
Was it a screen? That would make a lot of sense. Post the pic.
