But as a positive, the Bengals have shown they’ll tolerate mediocrity for a really, really long time. There’s not much job security in this league….

I have a feeling that, if we don’t hire him, he’ll become the coach of the Bengals and roundly beat us every year because Browns.

. If they’ve been around for a while and have a plan to bring in experienced coordinators I’m fine with it. Kitchens has one half of a season of OC under his belt. I’d want to see at least a couple more years of that under his belt and then force him to not call plays as HC so he can focus on running the team.
If they really want Kitchens as…[Read more]

I desperately want Kitchens to be OC, and I’m not on board at all with him being HC. He’s been a coordinator, at any level, for all of one half of a season
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic Browns speak with former Lions HC jim Caldwell in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 3 months ago
Am I missing something about Caldwell, as in why doesn’t he have a job? His record seems fairly immaculate, he was amazing with the Colts until they had a bad season when Manning was hurt for the year. He also did with the Lions. I don’t particularly remember the dude, what information am I missing?
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic Did the team meet your expectations? in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 3 months ago
I do think that, given the coaches being brought in, it’s Williams’ job to lose. McCarthy is the only “name” they’re interviewing, and the rest are up-and-comers with much less on their resumes than Gregg, especially their resumes from this past season. Unless another coach from a playoff or college team shows up in Berea I’d be shocked if we…[Read more]
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic Steelers imploding in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 3 months ago
Sounds like it’s a non-thing due to the way his contract is set up; the Steelers would have $21 million in dead money against the cap if they traded him.
Other than that, I’d at least kick the tires and talk to the dude. If his biggest gripe is “Been Rapestburger is a giant douche and I don’t want to listen to him anymore” it’s not a deal breaker…[Read more]

They beat my expectations at each juncture. I had them pegged at four wins through the preseason, and figured they’d lose out when they fired Hue. Happy to be wrong!
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic Steelers imploding in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 3 months ago
Can we offer a different team our second round pick to trade the Steelers a third round pick for Brown, and then trade him to us?
Beyond that, I’ll believe it when I see it…the Steelers have been “done” and “imploding” for years, and they always stick around near the top of the AFC. They won 13 games a years ago, regardless of “what if” they…[Read more]

I’m glad we finally have a leader for this team who isn’t merely happy to win a game, he wants to completely demoralize them. The rest of our division have done that to us for years…it’s time to start returning the favor.
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic Defensive & Offensive FA's the Browns may pursue in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
What Ice said. Plus, there’s always a diva player or two who demand trades…if there’s a great WR who does that, I’m at the point where I’d trade a decent pick.
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic OT – Josh Gordon stepping away from football. in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
Gordon clearly has serious mental health issues and probably should have never gone back to football after his first suspension. Not to say anything of this isn’t entirely his fault (it is), but he should have recognized the environment he was putting himself in as not being healthy for someone with his issues.
Truly hope dude can find some peace…[Read more]
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic Game balls and goats vs Denver in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
Definitely this. Very few QBs have much success their first time or two playing in Denver, much like how pitchers fare terribly when playing the Rockies. If you’ve ever walked around Denver for a length of time, you know the elevation is no joke!

In all fairness, we were all recovering from years of abuse by Johnny Manziel and none of us were in the best mindset.
I was about to say “at least we didn’t take my advice and draft Laquan Treadwell (who?), but then I realized we drafted Corey Coleman instead so 🤷♂️

Having last year’s Superbowl MVP as a fall back plan must be nice.
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic G. Robinson & B.Perriman and the LT & WR position in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
Same with free agency…biggest early names are Golden Tate and Randall Cobb. Neither is really going to demand double coverage.
I’d be fine throwing a 2nd round pick at whatever WR turns into a diva and demands a trade this off-season…it’s bound to happen.
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic G. Robinson & B.Perriman and the LT & WR position in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
Then you definitely don’t force it.
Dorsey did a great job of filling roster holes through free agency and trades this off-season, some he could hide his cards at the draft (except the obvious hole at QB, which there’s no point in trying to hide at #1 overall). No reason to think he won’t do the same this year.
MDP Sack Attack replied to the topic G. Robinson & B.Perriman and the LT & WR position in the forum Browns Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
Robinson, I’d like to bring in another veteran to compete for the LT spot, but especially with Bitonio next to him I don’t see a need to spend a high draft pick on a left tackle, unless that’s the best player out there. He’s not elite, has plenty of holes in his game, but he has all the tools and is at least an average left tackle. That’s…[Read more]

Isn’t this the one where where we go back in time, win the first four games, but then in week 15 Mayfield had a goatee and plays for the Steelers while Greg Williams wears rags and coaches the Browns from a cave?

TJ Carrie gets a gameball. He got stung with a pair of Interference calls, but didn’t let the refs keep him down and kept up with his aggressive play. It paid off big
