If it’s true that he’s looking for a one-year “prove it” deal, I hope he signs. He’ll be playing hard every down to show he’s worth a big contract next year, he’ll be a vocal leader alongside Landry, and most importantly he’s one more veteran whom our young guys will need to battle for playing time.

Unless he was really being a huge problem in the locker room, I don’t see why this was optimal over letting him catch some passes from decent QBs for once (I recall him looking good with McCown his first year before his injury). A couple preseason games of that and the first team to have a WR injury would probably be interested in kicking the tires.
