His market value? Remember Terrelle Pryors “Market value.”? The market value isn’t set on Schobert. He’s guessing he’ll get $10 million. The market will set his value and he still may end up back with us.
There were 40 linebackers above him in tackles for loss in 2019. His impact is more in coverage than anywhere else.
According to the rest…[Read more]

Carrie was cut without a replacement. Joe Schubert’s contract is up. See the difference?

van Pelt has 16 games of calling plays. Stefanski has 22.

All from MKC on Twitter:
1. Kevin Stefanski will let Alex Van Pelt call plays through preseason to determine which of them will handle the chore.
2. Andrew Berry: Joe Schobert has ‘earned the right to test the market’; non-committal on DE Olivier Vernon.
3. #Browns have ‘big plans’ for TE David Njoku, will prob pick up 5th year option; Kareem…[Read more]

This is hilarious to me. To have a hot mic on radio and not pay attention is nuts!

The problem isn’t the good, it’s the incredibly inept like the Corey Coleman’s of the world and the 1-31.
We’ll know in a couple months. That first go round was all about the SPARQ score on a spreadsheet and I don’t see that changing

Yes on all 3. Tretter isn’t amazing but he’s good

I agree and per MKC he was told prior that he wouldn’t be resigned

He could be in a team with Callaway and Gordon. I don’t think he’s have been back anyway

I’m fine with Vernon staying. Money means nothing until cap space is gone

I don’t care about the salaries. Every player you mentioned could be resigned at their “value” and added to Carrie and it wouldn’t make a dent in the cap room.
If Joe Woods comes and says “Carrie is a skilled DB, but his skill set is different than what will be utilized in my defense “ then I wouldn’t bat an eye at it. But this is straight up moneyball

TJ Carries $8 m salary is not inhibiting any deal with the cap room we have. That’s like saying Jeff Bezos will go broke buying a gumball

It’s a new defense. Using the salary cap as justification when you aren’t using all of it this year is nonsense. Meaningless.
You’re saying he’s not with the money yet you have no idea who is replacing him and if that person will be as good. It’s that simple. If they replace with someone the same or better than it’s a win, but if they are worse then what?
soup replied to the topic Browns cut TJ Carrie, Demetrius Harris, Erik Kush, Adarius Taylor in the forum Browns Forum 6 years, 2 months ago
We have the cap room. We have 3 corners. You need 4. Why do you care what he’s currently paid? What impact does that have?
Moneyball is exactly what Depodesta is known for. Your point on his pay would be far more valid if we were topping the cap

For the last 5 years at least we’ve sucked with having $50 million on cap left. His $8 million in one year is money ball talking. These guys are so focused on big cap room that they ignore everything else. His $8 million is meaningless. Groom a new guy and let him go the following year. Massive cap room doesn’t = wins.

Excel spreadsheet sheets got us Corey Coleman. He didn’t rank well when baseball guy hit “sort” so he’s gone

The most disturbing portion of this is the more I’ve read:
The league did NOT use audio in their investigation. They used camera angles and on field witnesses.
That’s like investigating a robbery of an unmasked guy staring into an HD camera and not looking at the video

On Outside the Lines. Here’s the most important part of the linked article which is absolute proof Rudolph said it:
“ NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league ’found no such evidence’ that a racial slur was used, and a league source told cleveland.com that the NFL had no recorded on-field audio in making that determination.”
The NFL has f…[Read more]
