To answer your question . . . I’m not so sure that he exists this year. By all accounts, Brett Hundley seems to be the third guy in the QB pecking order because he tics a lot of the boxes from a physical standpoint.
There IS one kid that I didn’t profile in my article . . .

In all candidness, Ice, I could’ve written and entire expose’ on Winston’s off-the-field exploits that would’ve taken up as much space as this article. I was all to well aware of them. However, I thought it would’ve been counterproductive to do so. I thought our viewers and fellow members would benefit significantly more by my taking the path I…[Read more]

Dear Mr. Haslam,
I’m writing this letter to express my deep concerns with the Cleveland Browns organization – both as a fan of Cleveland Browns football and as a member of the electronic media. Before airing my […]

I don’t disagree with this at all. However it doesn’t matter how important the position is, if there’s no talent there you can’t just reach and grab someone. This QB class looks as bad as last year’s if not worse. If you remember a lot of the first mocks that came out last season had JFF going #1 and Teddy Bridgewater going #2 solely…

The quarterback is the single most important position on the field. The teams drafting at the top of the draft are there for a reason – they’re not good football teams, and part of that is because they don’t have a franchise caliber quarterback. Until you get a franchise quarterback, your team will consistently struggle. That’s why you see so many…[Read more]

It’s all about patterns of behavior, Ice. And no, neither Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or any of the “elite” quarterbacks in this league encourage Josh to go on a cross-country booze excursion. They know just how hard it is to win in this league.

After the ESPN story broke on Johnny Manziel (co-written by Jeremy Fowler and Pat McManamon), I decided to look back at some things that transpired prior to the 2014 NFL draft and take it to where we are today. […]

I hate to be the one to say “I told you so”, but I told you so. The selection of Johnny Manziel by the Browns is arguably the worst in franchise history; and this is a franchise that has a track record of blowing draft pick after draft pick.
Here’s an interesting quote from the article:

I’ll be looking most intently at the individual battles in the trenches to see who’s getting penetration and who’s getting stonewalled. The team that controls the line of scrimmage is the team that will more than likely win.
As far as the quarterbacks go . . . I’ll be looking at mechanics, arm strength and how comfortable they are throwing from…[Read more]

With the 2015 Senior Bowl soon upon us, I thought it would be appropriate to spotlight a few players you may want to focus on as Browns fans.

So . . . basically the Browns are settling for an “up-and-comer” that will pose no immediate threat to Mike Pettine as his successor.

Marc Trestman for OC and Bernie Kosar for QB coach . . . get it done now.

Reports are that “the interview went well”. We’ll eventually find out just how well. The BIG determining factor with whoever they bring in will depend on whether Ray Farmer is fixed on making the Johnny the starting QB come hell or high water. If he is, his tenure in Cleveland could be shorter than any of us could possibly imagine.

UPDATE: ESPN850 has reported that the Browns interviewed Marc Trestman yesterday. Just thought you guys might want to know.

At least RT needs to be addressed. I think we could get by for another year with Greco at RG, but if they can upgrade the position and make Greco the swing man, that’ll be fine with me. If the RT position is upgraded, then perhaps Schwartz would work out at RG.

@ Ice – I’m more concerned about his desire to remain in the NFL than his pride being injured. I’m confident that the severance pay Trestman got from Chicago will more than compensate him for his wounded pride.
