  • Fact or Fiction: the Browns would take Isaiah Simmions if he somehow fell to 10.

Fact or Fiction: the Browns can trade down and still land one of the top 4 OT prospects.

Fact or Fiction: all 4 of the top OT prospects are elite LT prospects

Throwing a hat trick at you, just for fun

BTW, I also saw that they took the carbon fiber pattern out of the brown stripe on the helmet. Don’t understand that at all. I thought that was a neat way to update the helmet without really changing it, when they did it. It’s so subtle, I’ve never heard anybody complain about it. No big deal to me, just thought it was an interesting move.

I think some of you are too hard on the previous color rush uni’s. Look at color rush around the league: they suck. Big time. It just doesn’t look good to have one solid color uniform, unless that color is white. The Browns, IMO, had the best color rush in the league. Not saying they were great, but they were the best of a bad group. But thi…[Read more]

Yeah, they ruined the color rush uni’s. If they would’ve just left those alone, they were great. But, they ruined them. Seriously, how do you even pitch a plain brown uniform? It’s a freaking joke.

The rest are fine, but not great. I like the move back to the original look, but I don’t get why we can’t have orange pants. White shirts wi…[Read more]

  • Dawg E. Dawg replied to the topic Jadeveon Clowney in the forum Browns Forum 6 years ago

Vernon has missed 4 or more games each of the past 3 seasons.

  • I don’t think it helps them, though. The damage is already done, as they’ll be drafted later than they would have, or not at all. Drafting a player in the 8th, 9th, 10, or really even the 7th round doesn’t help them. They get paid the same as an undrafted FA, and are no more guaranteed to make the team.

Conversely, there are also prosp…[Read more]

Agree with all of that. No question.

The only reason I’m not opposed to signing him, is we have a similar guy (talent level wise) in Vernon, who is also not worth what he’s getting paid.

Who would you rather have, Clowney or Vernon? For me, it’s almost a toss up. They’ve both had injury issues, and they’ve both only looked good when they…[Read more]

His availability isn’t guaranteed either. He’s struggle to stay healthy at times in his career.

Personally, I’d be pissed if we release Vernon UNLESS we add a talent like Clowney, and no longer have a starting spot for Vernon available.

  • What preposterousness, what ludicrisity, what…..I’m just playing, nice work Bill. Definitely nice to have something to read with the sports world at a standstill.

It’s interesting to me that you have Jordan Love so high. It seems to me like he’s been the guy that’s kind of come out of nowhere this year. Just curious.

    For the Browns,…[Read more]

  • Addendum: what was initially reported as a restructured contract is actually now called a reworked contract, which is really saying they burnt his old contract and he signed a new one.

Much more reasonable now, max cash value of $5 mil in 2020. Could conceivably be a backup tackle contract. His previous one, was not, IMO.

  • Haven’t seen the details, but it was restructured to save cap space.

I posted this because most everybody thought it was a foregone conclusion that Hubbard would be released. With a restructure, we’re not paying him less, it’s just spread out over the remaining 3 years of his deal, and it means we’re committed to keeping him this year.…[Read more]

  • Just listened to it again, and I was completely accurate with Joes assessment. He didn’t say so much that Wirfs NEEDS a year at guard, he said he moves like a natural guard, and has the ability to play tackle. So he could start day one at guard, but definitely has the ability to be a tackle.

The only difference is he meant it as a positive t…[Read more]

  • Without going back and listening to it again, on the ThonaHawk show, they projected Andrew Thomas as a LT. He’s my choice right now, for the sole reason that having a Thomas at LT just feels right.

Also, Joe Thomas, after going to the combine, said that Wirfs would most likely need a year at guard in the NFL before potentially moving out to tackle.

  • I checked, and you’re correct, they signed FB Johnny Stanton in January. I don’t think he’s ever played in a game, as he was on the Vikings practice squad last year.

Also, the article about Stanton that I found said this is a very weak FB draft class, and there were no FBs invited to the senior bowl, FWIW.

  • He’s the only fullback on the roster, so he’ll be the starting fullback, but not necessarily a “starter” in the technical sense. They’ve been talking about getting a fullback from the moment they hired Stefanksi, so this makes sense.

And FYI, the article mentions that he’s available because he doesn’t have a role in new offensive coordinator P…[Read more]

  • Randall may be staying!!

Somebody on twitter tweeted at him that he should stay, and he responded:

    “Ok!! Hold up…”

That sounds like a deal is imminent.

  • For once, I completely agree with one of your posts. 2020 just keeps throwing curveballs.

  • I think the plan is to sign Scott Hatteberg to play safety.

  • Update: didn’t realize Murray was due to be a free agent, and he’s just signed with another team. This makes cutting Burnett puzzling, at best.
