Fact 1 I agree with Garret. But you are looking at the wrong combine numbers. 40 yard dashes mean squat when it comes to evaluating a pass rushers. It’s the 10 yard split of the 40, the vertcle jump, the broad jump and the 3 cone drill that matter. They measure explosiveness and ability to bend the edge athletically.
I included both the v…[Read more]

In case you haven’t seen yet, here are Garrett’s combine results:
Height: 6’4 1/2″
Weight: 272 lbs
Wingspan: 6′ 10 5/8″
Hands: 10 1/4″
Arm Length: 35 1/4″
Bench: 33 reps
Vertical: 41″
Broad Jump: 10’8″
40 Time: 4.64 secondsHe looked so smooth and fluid in the position drills, far better than any of the DL/DE and on par with the best LBs. It was…[Read more]

We’re 2 and 1/2 days into the NFL scouting combine, and what a combine it has been. Chris “CJ2K” Johnson’s nearly decade old 40 yard dash record fell to Washington Wide Out Stephen Ross, Mitch “call me Mitchell” Trubisky came in over 6’2″ tall and any delusions that Notre Dame QB Deshone Kizer is the best QB in this class are now a distant memory.…[Read more]

At the point he reveals the answer is Not Anthony Adams, the odds become 50/50.
You would think, but it’s not. Dawg E. is actually correct. Let me explain why.
At the onset your odds are 1 in 3. I think we all agree on this. Things get tricky when your friend tells you Anthony Adams was NOT the leader in passing yards. As Shooter says, it seems…[Read more]

Pretty fuckin’ epic isn’t it?

Let us know how that goes, brother. You’d make a great company man. Not to mention you have some great write-ups on players. I’d like to see the focus shift to other draft targets, however. Maybe the sleepers and possible hidden gems?
I will definitely do that as the combine gets under way. My focus on Mahomes has been more because I ide…[Read more]

Oh, so you want a picture of him after the Oklahoma game?
Seriously, where the fuck is Zbo when you need him? He’s money with photoshop. I’d have my poster and you’d be out $100.
Really though Shooter, this might sting a little if you didn’t want the one thing that has proven to be a bigger flop in the NFL than an Air Raid QB: Tom Brady’s back up.

Completely agree, the kid is an intriguing prospect. I think he will shoot up boards by the end of the combine.

I have to say I agree. There’s still rubber on those tires and we have so much cap space it makes too much sense not too. Also, an experienced Center like that is a safety blanket for a rookie QB, if we go that route.

Uhhhhh, guys like Case Keenum, Graham Harrel, Kellen Moore, Colt Brennen, Ty Detmer and a long list of others might have something to say about that cause uh, he’s not even in the top 20 for yardage or TD’s so……might wanna back that claim down a notch or 20.

DawgSoldier, I don’t think the RG3 comparison is too far off honestly. I would assert though, that Mahomes, as an Academic All American, is operating on another level in terms of intelligence than most Big 12 QBS. Additionally, as a former pitcher who was clocked at 96 mph, there’s an effortlessness in his throwing motion that wasn’t there with…[Read more]

I ask this in all seriousness:
Is there anything that Mahomes could do in the combine and at his pro day that would lead you believe he’s worthy of the #1 pick.
Now, DawgSoldier has made some excellent points about the history of QBs who have come from the Air Raid transitioning to the NFL. That said, he’s an Academic All American who left…[Read more]

Knock on Aaron Rodgers. Too small. Russel Wilson. Too Small. Drew Brees. Too small. Derek Carr. Little hands.
But you’re missing one important point: They all had sufficient arm strength. Jimmy G. does not. That was the knock on him out of college. One more time (from NFL.com so you know this isn’t just my unfounded opinion):
